the idaho f&g main page released the season rules last week some time they are on there site. looks like 40 fish for the season 4 a day but only 2 over 25 inches. and 20 over 25 inches for the season. and after you get your 2 over 25 inches you must stop fishing. It said they were expecting 100k fish or around that anyway.

[indent][indent]I just caught my first steelhead Sat on the South Fork Clearwater. I was just notified by Clearwater drifters the King season opens 25 April. Where is the best place to start looking for the Kings?

I checked the IDFG counts and 300ish fish came over Bonneville yesterday. The majority come over Lower Granite about April 30th.....and two weeks later.....Riggins here I come! Anyone think they'll open the upper Salmon again this year? What did you think of the quota thing last year? Did anyone get their camp set up and find out the season was over?[mad]

From what i read it doesnt look like they will open the upper salmon. I know they had high hopes that they would get the chance. Even if they do i hope they do it diffrently, like let the fish get there before they open the season. It was just getting good when they closed it last year. I got a good laugh over did anyone get camp set up to find out the season was over. We got up there the day it closed. I had talked with the f&g office all week and knew it would probly be closed, but none the less I was one of those that got there a bit to late and was stuck watching the indians snag them.... Either way I had a great trip at redfish, got some good fishing in and drank a whole lot of beer.

[laugh], at least you're a good sport! I almost did the same thing. I wouldn't mind trying it this year if they let us, even if I am to early, there's always that chance of being there when you're supposed to.
