Okay, so I've only been to Willard twice, and that was with somebody else... so I let them do all the 'driving' (land and water vehicle), so I really wasn't paying attention. Silly me.
I'm assuming this is the north marina, cuz it looks familiar as such. Now, that little island and pathway out in the water…can you get to it from shore? I can't tell if the trail connects, because of all the trees in the way. If I move the camera more left, then it just shows more of the open yard, and that's the opposite way I want to go.

I'm sure I could fish from the shore connected to the main land, but I think it'd be nice if I could get out on that little peninsula. Or is it illegal to fish from there, anyway? I know at East Canyon, you can't fish from the piers, but close by them…. just want to make sure I don't get in trouble at Willard for breaking any rules about fishing off structures like that.

I plan on going soon, probably next week, if the weather is decent. Tomorrow would be nice, but I'm still recovering from a respiratory virus, enough that it's still got me a bit tuckered out.

Yes that is the launch ramp in the North marina.
You are allowed to fish almost anywhere once you pay your fee to get into the park. Except the docks swim beaches and launch area. You can fish all of that brushy area on the point.
There is also fishing at the south marina, about 10 miles closer to layton than the North marina.

Yeah, I've been to the South Marina once (by boat, not car). But I can't see over there!
I'm trying to save time and energy, not having to hike everywhere to find a good spot. At least this year. Maybe next year, if I've had my back surgery and can walk better, I won't mind wandering around a bit more.

[cool][#0000ff]It is still a bit early for reliable bank fishing, but once the water warms a bit you can fish from the SE corner inside the north marina...only about 50 feet from the car. Good for catfish and occasional wipers when they come in to chase the shad.[/#0000ff]
