I have a abu garcia 6500 c3 and went fishing 2 weekends ago and the line guide sticks on the left of the reel when bringing it in. If i give it a lil nudge it goes back to the right but when it gets back to left it gets stuck again. Just wondered if anyone else had this kind of issue??[

you know i have no idea, i was just doing some catfishing and noticed it was sticking to the left, but with a lil push it goes right back over but will stick again when it gets to the left again. i will put some reel oil on it this evening, see if that makes any difference

We only use Abu's and have never replaced a part and we have some that are 20+ years old.

Oh I know, its been my tried and true for awhile. so you have never had an issue like this?

Never, we use our Abu's for every kind of fishing, we always use level winds and hardly ever use a spinning reel

I had the Carcia with the anti-backlash pop-up on it. Not aure what the model was. It did the same thing. It was a worn gear and pawl. I now have a 5600 C-4 and it is a brute. I also have a Revo and i love it.

this usualy means you have a weak or broken spring not enogh tension to flip the bail..

I love the Garcia bait casters... but won't use their spinning reels either.
Lately with my new budget If I buy new gear it's Shakespeare and I have no issues with their brand so far. I know many will say their stuff is cheap but I take good care of my fishing gear. I clean them at least once a week with fresh water and oil them and have had a couple for over two years now.
