Hey all,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've only been in Coly for a little over a year now, and haven't done any real local fishing to the Denver area. I love the mountains but haven't had the time to head out as often as I'd like.

I commute daily from North Denver (Hwy 36 and I25) to about 10 miles shy of Lyons on 36. I'd really like a place somewhere within that area that is close to the highway that I can stop by and throw a line a few times after work. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Cheers.

So I found this place in thornton, known as "Gravel Pit of Thornton." Has anyone heard of it or possibly know the real name?

With the longer days I can at least get a few fly casts in in the evening.

Cheers.

I don't know that particular spot. How far are you from McCall Lake?
