This past week I went on a "CAST & BLAST" expedition to Natchez Trace TN. I had been drawn for a turkey hunt in the state forrest, & there were a 3 lakes to fish as well. i got there a couple days early to scout & fish. I saw plenty of turkeys and thought it was going to be "easy pickins". That is until a horrific storm came through & flattened my campsite. Once I had completed repairs to my camp, I was, AGAIN ready for some turkey/fishin' action. I missed a londbeard early the first morning, and decided to fish the afternoon & listen for gobblers. I was drifting a huge ball of nightcrawlers on a drop shot rig. The wind was blowing my kayak into the back of a creek. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to take a nap. I nestled down in the kayak and drifted off to sleep. I was awakened by the sound of my rod dancing in the rod holder as my kayak started to move off the bank. With cat like reaction (LOL!) I grabbed the rod. FISH ON! When I put pressure on it, this fish made a mighty jump. NOW I was REALLY awake!! The fish made several more fantastic leaps, before I got him to the side of the kayak. Just as I was about to lip it. The sow bellied fish JUMPED IN THE BOAT! Landing right in my lap!! Now, hear I had this pig in my lap floppin' wildly! I wrestled her in to submission & took a couple of photos then released her. I didn't get a longbeard this "Cast & Blast" trip, but I'll take a lunker bass any day! Tight Lines, & FISH ON!! <br /> Currently 5.00/5
