[fishin]Well I had an interesting day. I called a friend and he said that the crappie had already spawned and that they had really slowed down on the bite.[:/] I decided to see if I could find some that still wanted to play "catch me if you can"[

The forcast was indicating T-storms for latter in the afternoon but it was a nice day when I got there. I unloaded as usual and in fact it went very quickly abd I was ready to go. Pushed the toon out so I could lower the motor and swung it around to sit down and put on my fins. As I did both welds on my left side of the frame broke.[shocked]

Can you believe it both of them at the same time broke. I thank my Lord that it was when I was still in by shore[angelic], it would have been very serious deal if it would have been away from shore.[crazy]
So I loaded everything back up, drove around exploring other possible fishing spots and camping down in that area. Even fished from the bank for a bit. No takers[:p]

Headed for home, but I made a little detour at tuttle and went to these little ponds there to see if any bluegill want to play, but all that could come out to play was a nice fat carp, good fight on my Light rod[laugh]
I'll include some pictures.

Great pictures! Definately a bad day. Glad you are all right. That could have been very bad. Maybe it is time to upgrade.

Praise the Lord you are OK Michael. You and I have both had close calls this spring.
Get that Willys up on craigslist & I 'll keep my eyes open around here for a boat for you. In the mean time.... do you have a back up to your 'toon or are you gonna get it welded up? Are you gonna be able to make Lowell?

sorry to hear about the boat problems, today was the "shakedown" run for the spring for me-always worry about problems the first time out. Too bad you were at cove arm-I had room for ya! would love to me a few of the guys from this board on the water. Thankfully you were close to shore, that could have been BAD news today with the wind..............

Thanks and it's already apart and ready to find a welder, still can;t believe both let go like that, if the toons not ready the float tube will be.
The Willys is close to being ready to go, I just put a full rebuilt original motor in it, but I must admit it will be tough to do, but for the right boat or the right price I will.

Good Pictures. My frame on my pontoon broke a couple of years ago. I had it welded and it hasn't had any problems since. I think water leaked into the tubing and the rust weakend the weld.
