I have been a lurker for a while. I thought I would post our latest trip.
My son and I got up at 4:00 am to go count Sage grouse.
After that we went from there to Strike. This was our first fishing trip for the year. My son Jacob got the first Crappie, I got all the rainbows.
I don't have sonar (yet) but we were fishing a long way from shore. One guy that was closer to land than use said he was at 46 feet.
Anyway, as we got fish I marked them with my GPS and a pattern showed up on the screen. We got somewhere around 30 crappie, and 6 trout, but we kept 22 Crappie, and 2 trout. Both trout were husky fish that liked to jump. One of them had a band in it's jaw. We fished for about 3 hours and I decided that I had all the fish I could stand to clean.
The crappie were hitting red and white jigs, and the trout were hitting both worms and jigs. This was my first time to get a two pole permit. It was a great day I wish I would have taken more pictures of Jacob with his fish basket full. Ron
