Got up early, and headed to C.J. to fish for trout and crappie. Trolled early A.M. along with three other boats, and nada. First time I have struck out on trout for a long time there. Had plenty of slow days, but always managed one or two at least. None of the other boats connected either. So, my wife and decided it was time to move on to the slabs. We were shocked to see so many boats in the narrows for a Monday. We decided to drop anchor shy of the crowd, and it was a good decision. We picked up 60+
in a couple of hours. Decided to see what the fuss was in the Narrows, but it was much slower there. Talked to two bass fishermen when pulling out, and they didn't have so much as a bite. All in all, a good day. Mike

I went on Saturday and slayed some crappie in the Narrows. We brought the kids and wife so we didn't spend much time on bass. There was a TON of boats. The parking lot at the dam was packed. It was good to see the Sheriff out doing ramp checks.
I went today and was also surprised by the amount of fishermen for a week day, the Narrows were packed! We started out fishing for bass and caught one. We used a worm looking plastic with drop shot and a SLOW retrieve. Fished for crappie for a while... I thought red and white jigs worked the best... got tried of catching crappie around mid-day so we tried again for bass and caught two more on the same set up. Even though the bass were slow, it was a great day! Sorry I forgot the camera so no pics.

I was on CJ on Monday also......sure were a bunch of people fishing.....my buddy and I filled a 5gal bucket in 2-3 hrs using about any color jig with a crappie nibble or a bit of cut bait. NICE weather. I drive a 12' Grey alum boat with a 15 horse Johnson. ( there is a large AMSOIL sticker on the motor) Also have a bow mounted trolling motor. . Would enjoy meeting anyone thats a member of this forum. Stop and say hello anytime.

Hey Jetcrafter and Ron,
Wish I had known you were on the water with us. We have a 16' blue Hewescraft with a 75 and 8 Yamahas, and two Penn downriggers. So, who are all these people on a Monday?! I was shocked to see that many boats in the narrows, esp. because when we put in, there were only two rigs in the Black Sands ramp. I figured we would have the res. to ourselves. Mike

I would have liked to say hi.
got to admit, I saw all those boats and wondered if any were from this web site. Maybe we should all have fishing shirts with the logo so we can tell who is on here. Ron

I made a post a little while ago about a sticker with our "handle"'s on them for our boats, anyone know how/where we could make it happen?
