I was going to hit the Gorge today but the weather report scared me off so me and my fishing partner hit Echo again to try and rid ouselves of last weeks skunk. Hit the water at 0700 and it was a little cool and breezy, my buddy nailed a few right off the bat, we were fishing the west side near the highway in about 20' of water. Weather cleared up and warmed up nicely for a few hours. I got rid of my skunk but I got schooled today 9-1 by my buddy.

He caught 2 browns and the rest bows', I managed 1 bow. We both had a few others on but they did not cooperate and make it to the boat. Nice day out, wind picked up really good at 1:30 and we were off the water by 2:00.

All fish were caught jigging 3" white and glow tube jigs w/ chub meat. Here's a pic of his nicer brown.

Thanks for the report, I've only fished Echo on the ice, and with how poorly it produced this year compared to last, I'm glad to know there are fish still in there. [Smile]

I'd be interested to know how to adapt your tactics and presentation thruout the season on open water there?

Thanks.

I would be no help with open water tactics, this was only my second time fishing Echo, I fished it as a kid but most of my boat fishing takes place at Strawberry, I just needed a place to fish until the ice melts at the Berry. I did mark ALOT of fish on the finder, but olny managed to land the 10 fish, did have alot more strikes though.
