I ALMOST WENT FISHING TODAY , HAD THE WADERS IN THE JEEP , THE FISHING VEST TOO . JOSIE ,MY BLACK LAB AND FISHING COMPANION WAS EAGER TO TRAVEL AS WELL . I OPENED THE TACKLE BOX AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING I WANTED TO TRY FOR THE DAY . I HAVE ANOTHER BOX OUT IN THE SHED , I'LL CHECK THAT ONE .

OPENED THE SHED , PINECONES EVERYWHERE , DARN CHIPMONKS ! THERE WAS THE FISH FINDER , THE DOWN RIGGER , A ROD TUBE TAPED SHUT . I WONDERED WHICH RODS WERE IN IT , AHHH , THE OLD BAMBOO FLY RODS , THEY WILL MAKE A GOOD WALL HANGING DECORATION , NOTHING MORE . BACK ON THE SHELF THEY WENT ... UNTILL NEXT TIME .

BEHIND THE GARDEN TOOLS SAT THE OLD 1942 SCOTT-ATTWATER 3-1/2 HORSE BOAT MOTOR , CARB REBUILDING KIT THERE IN THE TOOL TRAY EXACTILY WHERE I LEFT IT THREE YEARS EARLIER . I'LL GET AROUND TO IT SOON I THOUGHT TO MYSELF , WHERE'S THAT TACLE BOX ?

MOVED A FEW BOXES AROUND , MY FIRST RELOAD VICE , DUCK DECOYS , I DON'T REMBER WHAT THAT THING IS , BUT IT STILL LOOKS GOOD . MAYBE BEHIND THAT STUFF OVER THERE .

THERE IT WAS THE OLD PLANO 747 , BIG BOY OF ALL MY TACKLE BOXES . THE THING WAS SO HEAVY AT ONE TIME I HAD TO REPLACE A POPED HANDLE RIVIT WITH A BENT NAIL . IT'S STILL WORKING , I HAVE THOES NEW RIVITS SOMEWHERE IN THE GARAGE .

AFTER REMEMBERING THE CORRECT WAY TO OPEN HER UP , SALMON LURES , MOSTLEY BIG OLD MEPPS . I MEAN REALLY OLD , BRASS WIRE MEPPS . A FEW NEED NEW PAINT , SOME NEW FEATHERS OR FUR , SOME NEVER USED . GREAT I THOUGHT A FEW REPAIRS AND THIS OCTOBER I'LL BE ALL SET , JUST GOTTA GET SOME CASTING PRACTICE IN ON THAT SALTWATER BAITCASTER REEL .

I LOOKED AROUND AT ALL THE PROGECTS LEFT WAITING THERE TURN , FALL WILL BE HERE BEFORE I KNOW IT I THOUGHT . TODAY IS THE DAY IT ALL ENDS , OR STARTS KINDA . ONE PROGECT AT A TIME UNTILL THERE ALL ACOMPLISHED . BUT FIRST , CASTING PRACTICE IN THE DRIVEWAY . STARTED OFF AT A GOOD SIX FOOT CAST ( GOOD FOR A YOUNGSTER ) ENDED UP AFTER A FEW HOURS AND A FEW ADJUSTMENTS WITH A NICE SEVENTY FIVE FOOT CAST . NO NEST ! NOT BAD , JUST GOTTA HET IT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND NOT OVER THE HOUSE . THEN I'LL BE READY FOR THOSE SALMON .

THE DOG KEPT WALKING UP AND DOWN THE DRIVEWAY , STOPPING ONLY TO GIVE ME A HEAD COCK NOW AND THEN AS IF TO SAY " UH , WHERE'S THE WATER ?THERES SUPOSED TO BE WATER INVOLVED HERE ! "

YEP , I DIDN'T GO FISHING TODAY , BUT THERES ALWAYS TOMOROW . OLD HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK .

Interesting idea. Get the house projects done before fishing. Hmmm. Maybe I'd get my boat water worthy faster if I didn't go fishing so often.

Might even lose some weight if I exercised more and fished less.

oh no ! not house progects , FISHING PROGECTS ! LOL !

LOL. I've gotcha. I should start to put more work into the boat. I'd love to get it on the water at least once this year. Even if I hafta use oars the entire time!

I think I'm guilty of something pretty similar once and a while! Funny how much Koool stuff you find when your not looking for it!

yea , the boat motor has been awaiting the new carb kit longer than the three years , more like seven , thats when we started house shopping . since that time the lil' fishing boat has been sitting along with the motor , but it gave me the chance to get a whole lot of bank fishing time in , got to know some people i would have never met too .

once i get rolling with these progects , the boat motor will be done just in time for the ice to come in . but i am planning on building my own fishing boat this winter , if all goes well i'll be sporting the best boat on any lake , or under it if she sinks !

yea , i found a couple of boxes of baseball cards that haven't seen daylight in about eleven years . some newspapers from the gulf war too , wrapped and sealed . a steel line flyreel for lakers , and a old handcrank victrolla motor i used for handlining for walleyes . neet stuff , old memories ,and a lotta junk ! LOL !

LOL. Just remember, one mans junk is another man's treasure. You seem to be somewhat of a handi-man from what I've read. I mean, you seem to do wonders with your wifes fingernail polish.

LOL. I've definitely got a project to deal with. But I think it's gonna wait until the skeeters are gone for the year before I get to it. I've gotta get the pond out of the boat and weed the floor. Either that or I can take it in to a professional repair shop and have them completely replace the hull and floor.
