Hey guys,

I just saw a neat reel. It's the Mitchell Full Runner 600 spinning reel. It has both an AUDIO and LED alarm that activates when a fish strikes the line.

Does anybody own one of these and do they work? They might be really cool for the sight impared or nappers.

Quick! Send one to me for free testing! I'll report everything I can on it.

It's something I can use when I'm untangling other peoples lines. I nearly lost my fishin' pole today while fishin' with an 11 yr old kid from church. He caught a fish but couldn't get it off the hook. Next thing I know, I'm nearly divin' off the fishing pier going after my own pole. Carp got ahold of my fake worm (the new Berkeley water-based earthworm-in-a-jar stuff).

I think this kid is good luck. Every time I take him fishing and I need to help him with his line, something big bites on mine. (Nice bowfin a couple weeks ago).

I'm sure if I woulda had this new reel that you're talkin' about, I wouldn't have nearly lost my pole today.

By the way, the carp seemed to really love these fake earthworms from Berkeley. Was catchin' them like crazy.

Hello Guys,

JR, I had never seen or heard about it? Looks like a good tool for night fishing the Kats.

The Full Runner 600 Electronic reel features our patented Bait Alert System that beeps and flashes when a fish takes line! To turn off the bait alarm, you simply turn the handle to re-engage the spool. The FRE600 also has the innovative Full Runner feature that provides free-floating bait movement. thies sounds like a must have for pike anglers and carp tournymen. I have been using the cow bell method on the carp and prey I get back to the rod before the carp maks his run with the line. with this reel a man could have the best of both reals with out the wories of loosing a rod to a giant carp.

a free spinning spool with out the handle engaged is just the ticket for mounting the rod in a holder and not have to worie about the handle hitting something or jumping up and down. it sonds like it would not take much to pull the line out with the bail closed.

certanly sounds like a product I would like to test. ofcource it would have to be a minimum of a 14 pound class reel or bigger to realy reep the benifits of using these features for larger fish.

the hardest thing I find when using an open face reel for pike carp and cats is I cant leave the bail open so to eliminate the fish fish from feeling the rod when they hit the line and try to run.
