We had another great day at silverwood . Bass are very active along almost all shorelines. I landed 6 largemouth , two from the shore and four in a float tube (dropshot is the key ) . I talked to a group of people that had landed 15 stripers and 5 trout east of cleghorn .
The lakes hours are now 600am t0 900pm for all shore fishing , all boats are off the water by dusk . Good luck and we hope to see you there .

Hey there kzilla02,
Thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a good day for freshwater bassin'! I really am intrigued on how to catch those stripers on a fly. I wonder if a topwater popper might work if they are crashing on top. Otherwise.......
Can you use live bait at Silverwood and if so what and where can you buy it.
Thanks again,
JapanRon

Hey KZilla,
Thanks for the heads up! We'll have to get up that way soon. I've been wanting to take another run at the stripers with the Z plug. Having then been pulling the big striper out since the Lake record was landed?
Hey JR,
They do sell some live bait at the Tackle Shop. They also have Mackeral and sorted frozen baits. Are you thinking about hitting the lake some time soon? I wouldn't mind heading up there in the next couple weeks or so.

Whats up japanron? You can get live crawdads at sport chalet. Other than that the only live bait you can use is shad . They should be running pretty soon and the only way to get them is with a hand net . Its pretty tough . We have had good luck on frozen anchovies . But it all depends on how big the stripers are that you want to catch . We were landing 2 to 4 pounders all day with cut chovies . anyways good luck and let me know how you do.
