Any updates on Newton? I drove by last Friday and the ice has been off for a while but it was cold and windy so I didn't want to go up without a report of some kind. Thanks much!

I have fished twice for tigers with not even a follow, in the last two weeks. Thinking it might be time to give it another go if we ever get a break in the weather.

I was there Saturday morning fishing for bass and crappie. We didn't even have a bite. But I blame that on the bad weather.

[fishin]I know the weather has been killing me. The only days that i have to fish are mon-wed and sometimes fri. If we can get another warm day I am going to split and head to one of these fine lakes for a few hours.[cool]

It's a little cold still! This weather isn't helping hopefully we can get some decent warm streaks and get that water temp up about 10 degrees.

I'm getting pretty anxious myself. I only live 5 minutes away, and I still haven't drug myself over there because of the cold weather. Well that and finals. Stupid school. If we can just get some warm weather I know just where I'm going to hit, it's just still too cold I think.

Newton typically doesn't get good until the end of May. As of two weeks ago, the crappie were down deep around 40ft and no perch to be found. Water is still cold. A streak a warm weather could send them to the shallows. It hasn't warmed up enough in my opinion for that quite yet. Good Luck! LC

+1! I was out there end of last week and found crappie in the 30-45 ft range. I going to try again the end of next week and see if the tiggers are coming out of hibernation yet!

i agree with lord crappie i hav'nt done any good there till it warms up a bit. hopefully in about two weeks.
