Fished willard again tonight.. Caught only 2 but both of them where are off the fly rod from shore as well.. Had what felt like a hard hit but seemed like I was snagged cause it wasnt moving.. Then once it decided to move I knew there was a fish on.. So i waited it out it decided to come up to the top.. WOW a 30"+ CARP haha.. It got off but it was foul hooked as well.. Seen some other catching them.. My old tricks just wasnt working for me this time..

Dang.. sounds like a decent trip. i figure as long as you arent working and you are out of the house its a good fishing trip, catchin fish is a HUGE bonus. [

Well i did work today as well lol.. But yea live in roy so its nice to live close to there.. I did get one on my cell phone if i can figure out how to upload it to my pc.. Yea its a blast catching them on the fly rod.. Going to the berry tomorrow be back on thursday excited for that

oh nice! wish i had the energy to go fishing after work, but 6: 10 hour shifts a week starts taking a toll on the body after a month. i havent really ever used a fly rod, did once and caught a "small-ish" bow ( about 13" ) but it was extremely fun. it takes alot of skill, practice, and patience to be effective with a fly rod, and im just lazy so i dont worry about it [:p]

Yea im young lol work from 630 to 3 so i have some time to fish after work.. Yea I've been fly fishing for 13 years now started when i was 10 so i do have the patience to fly fish.. Yes lots of skill some of the time being on the north dike i roll cast sinking line lol.. But yes hopefully i have a blast at the berry.. Sorry about the pic i was just holding it up wasnt the best.. But the most of the ones i have caught on the fly have been some hogs.. Its a cell phone pic so you know as well

lol you arent much younger than me. but 2 years ago i could work long hours, stay up till 1 am, then get up at 4 am to go fishing.. now i work 8 hours and get 10 hours sleep im lucky to be able to take the garbage out in the am. hopin to get back out fishing though, tired of hangin out at the house all the time.
Thats a nice fish, would be interesting from a fly rod. hopefully i will see ya out there sometime this year, just gettin the new tube finally finished.

I also fished willard today on the north dike from about 1 to 4:30. I caught 2 just before I left. I just started fishing for wipers the last couple weeks and it is a blast.

Yes i was fishing from shore.. And i tried using a few different jigs and nothing.. The ones i caught was from flies.

I did not see you today. I talked to you yesterday and once last week. I also only caught 1 smallmouth yesterday. I caught the fish today jiggin from shore. one was 17'' the other 20'' I used cranks for a few hours with no bites. It seemed the fish did not really get active till about 4 though.

I wouldnt know about when it turns on cause about 4 is the earliest time i get out there at.. Yea thats good that you where able to get a few today didnt stay too long today that storm rolled in and it shut down quick

ya bad weather sucks! I am hoping next week is warmer. I leaveing to Iraq middle of may and I am trying to get in as much fishing as I can Before then.

No i didn't but there was one guy out there that was i kinda felt like you haha.. Watching others slay them but its okay.. Yes im hoping the weather is nice next week so i can get out there on the toon just so i can stay away from all the people on the shore line.. If you start catching them watch out some of them need to give some space.. Bringing in wipers out there can really get you in a mess when others come fish right by you
