I went to northern California this past weekend and caught my first sturgeon. Fished the bay/delta and caught a 50 inch sturgeon and a small striper. My buddy caught a 46 inch sturgeon. Another small sturgeon and stiper were also caught.

Went bass fishing the next day in the delta and caught a few largemouth bass, nothing big though. Fun trip overall and great to land a sturgeon. Check that one off my list of fish to catch.

Way to go Kory. Interesting set up on the rods. What is the purpose of the floats or whatever they are?

They are scent dispensers and you can add these little pellets which have various scents, shad, anise, etc. They also spin, which may or may not attract more fish because of movement.

Sturgeon fishing on the Delta is a lot of fun. I see you're fishing East Bay and on the river. I grew up in Antioch and the pics bring back a lot of memories. I try to get out there every year and spend some time on the bay or just outside the gate.

There are some nice bass in the Delta. My brother has a 16 lb and 10 lb bass on the same table mount in his house in Antioch. Pretty impressive.

Yeah the Delta has huge bass, but a couple of my buddies with boats were out of town so I had to walk the shoreline. They have caught numerous 10 pound largies. Not sure what there biggest is but I don't think it is 16 (that's a toad). I remember the first Bassmasters tournament out there and how suprised everyone was by the size of the bass in there.

I agree about fun fishing in the bay but I hate the choppy water and wind right outside the gate. My brother just started kayak fishing in the bay (Yep he's a little crazy).
