Anyone know the recommended way to rig up a stick bobber? The kind with a spring on the bottom as seen here? bobber stop, bobber, then i put a peace of surgical tubing sideways on my line so the tubing doesnt move, this protects the bobber from smacking the swivel. then either a 3 way swivel or a double swiveled peace of lead, if you use a 3 way you tie a peace of surgical tubing and attact to one of the ends and put your pencil lead in the tubing, and attach leader to the other.

Did you look at the link I attached? I think you are describing the use of a slip bobber. I want to know how to use it as a stationary bobber. The ones I have are similar to the ones in the link I originally attached. Also, I couldn't open up your picture for some reason.

Edited:
Yup, your picture is showing a slip bobber. Check out the one in the link.......

I use the bobber that you have shown all the time in fact they are my favorite bobber because they are so sensitive. I like the ones with the lead weight on the bottom of the bobber.

You simply pull the spring back towards the bobber and slip the line into a groove on the stem. I like to wrap it twice so the bobber doesn't move. Then let the spring come back down on the line. You can adust the bobber for any length you want. For light baits you can put a split shot in between the bait and the bobber, but I usually just let the bait free fall down. I think it looks more natural.

My son and I caught 19 stockers at the Rexburg nature pond on Saturday with this set up. The size 10 hook was tipped with worm and a salmon egg.

Great set up for stockers, bluegill and crappie when they are shallow.
