Fished the river by the dam. The water was really high not too mention the wind. Not flowing strong enough for the whitebass to come out and play. fished with a sinker rig got a monster golden trout! Used it for bait and immediately hit 2 whitebass. that was it for the night.

Annoying loud drunk idiots came after and me and the wifey decided to leave.

Hey I was over there last night too! It was pretty windy. Fishing was pretty slow, I had more fun playing with my new pup. He hasn't ever been swimming and he got a little taste for it. He sunk! Oh well, I'm not too worried, he will get the hang of it! So what's the key to these white bass? I just moved down here last year and have never fished this area before.

Yeah I think we saw you over there because I heard my wife say AWWW look at the puppy!
Whitebass are usually easy to catch and have a high limit I think it's 80 not sure because there are so many of them. I use a leader and have two lines out from my leader one being longer than the other. Put jigs on the end of them and your good to go just cast and reel cast and reel. Some people just use spinners and that also works well. The whitebass should be biting alot more as the weather warms up.
I'm kind of a novice if you want fishing advice TubeDude is the MAN in this forum and probably all of UT. That's how I get how to fish and where to fish.[fishin]

THANKS TUBEDUDE!

[cool]There is NO limit on white bass. I hope they start biting better soon. Like you said, as the water warms up, they should bite well soon, especially near the inlets when the spawn happens in a couple weeks...

the whities have been biting heavy already of the rocks at inlet park but havent fished for them for a few days since they opened all three gates i think they already are in spawn i have caught tons of males

The high water is all from snow melt and that plunged the water temperature a few degrees almost overnight. That will put the clamp on them for a little bit, but when things warm up then when it hits 61 degrees it's going to be fast and furious. I'm ready for spring to stop messing around and just get here.
