My 2 girls and I hit Willard from 2 until about 5. Could have chosen a better time of day to fish I think but it was a Beautiful day. No wind and partly cloudy.
This was our first trip to Willard ever. We caught 1 23" eye along the North dike with a worm harness. My 7 year old daughter really enjoyed the fight. She is always asking why we don't catch big fish anymore...(we fished Chesapeake bay strippers daily) We also trolled the West dike for a while with no hits. We also tried trolling rapallas for a while with no luck.
Question for all of you experienced eye and wiper fishermen: Where do the eyes hang out? I assume they are typically on or very near the bottom. What about wipers? Do you target them similar to the east coast stripped bass?
Thanks
