I just got back from CJ Strike a couple of hours ago.
The weather was over cast and looked like rain. The wind was from the east, and not too bad. The day started out bad. I was eating breakfast and broke a tooth. I mean right in half! I had been planning on going fishing and I was not going to let that stop me.
Today was not a great crappie day. I got 10 crappie most were between 10" and 12" I kept 5. I caught 15 trout that were nice and big. I released all be three of the trout. The trout stole the show today. They were fat, sassy, and Thick. One was 23" long and looked like a long football. The rest were from there down to 15". The smallest one I took home was 15". The only trout I kept were the ones I hooked too deep. I wish I would have kept more, we ate them tonight and they were great. The trout were fighters. Flipping in the air and pulling line, I can't get over it.
At 1:00 pm the rain started and the wind kicked up big time. The white caps were up to 2 feet high when I quit. It was too dangerous to stay out where I was at. At one point I was busy taking the last trout of the day off the line and I realized that I was being blown away, and the waves were coming over the side of the float tube.
I had my life vest on but it was just too much for me to be out there. On the way home the weather looked like I should have stayed. Oh well I will have to wait for next time. No pictures today my son didn't get to go. Ron
