Fished the SF again for a few hours and the fishing wasn't too bad at all. Landed a brown and a whitey. Snagged a whole bunch of whities and a cutt (seems to happen a lot when you strip a fly through a deep hole). Played 5 different trout for 30 seconds or so that all spit the hook every time I reached down to pick them up. Missed numerous other hits. Overall it was a really good outing despite the pouring rain and the high water. This new bugger fly I tied up and a rubber legs dropper seemed to be the right set up.

Awesome!
The river looks pretty clear....I thought it would be more off color than it is.

I've been by the river twice in the last week and I would say the upper stretch from conant valley to the dam looks really good. It usually stays fairly clear and now that they've had so much water pouring out of the dam for a few weeks now it's given things a chance to run a little clearer. There is still a lot of run off to come so it may muddy up in the next couple of weeks if it ever warms up!

I'll second that. Where is the freaking warm weather!?!? I know it's Idaho, but even we usually get a fair number of good weather days by now just to suck us into a false sense of security!
