Made the trip all the way up to La Barge to fish Fontenelle to find the road to the ramp was all gravel and washboard and then about a 300 foot, one lane drop off down "ramp". Decided to head all the way back to Deer Creek for some action.
Pulled on to the East ramp at 6:45 AM Saturday. Had the lake to myself! The water is nearly up to the parking lot. (picture below) It was raining hard and never did let up, but the fishing was excellent. Fished mostly between the island and the North shoreline. It was so busy that I could only use one pole. Saw a lot of fish "tailing" in the hard rain. Not sure if they were trout or carp. Looked like Reds!!
Had a great time and caught roughly two dozen fish before I called it quits. Love Deer Creek early in the year..... [cool]

Wow Deer Creek is looking nice. Thanks for the pics. Hopefully the fish can get big and fat this year.

Were you referring to the road at Fontenelle? If so, the road is ok if you don't mind beating up your boat some. I just chose not to abuse mine. It's about five miles of gravel and washboard to get to the ramp. The water is extremely low. The only ramp is the South one by the dam. You then have to back down a 40% grade for about a block to get to the ramp, which actually has a small launching dock on it.
I've heard that the fishing is actually pretty good if you can get your boat in, but with the rain, mud and bad road, I chose to divert back to Utah. If you go, let me know how you do. I talked to a guy up there that fishes with RMT spoons with Gulp minnows attached for Browns??? Strange set up, but who knows.

We always use the ramp at the end of the lake. We put and old boat cover under our boat so rocks don't hit it. Where did you get your tower ? We have a 23' Trophy Walkaround.

That's a great idea to protect your boat on gravel roads.

The T Top came with the boat. It's a Triumph 21' CC. They are sold by Davidson Marine in Murray. They may be able to tell you if one would bolt up or not. These are made of Propylene, unbreakable and unsinkable.

Bigfishwanted just bought the same boat. Then he went off to the Gorge never to be heard from again... [cool]
