so this is my x caddis varient i looked at the original x caddis and thought about the pattern and what it is suppose to do the original is suppose to look like a caddis cripple a fly that cant get out of its casing. every criple i have ever seen personaly is scrambling with its legs to get free despretly flailing them to try and pull out of its casing so i thought hey legs. so i spun deer hair on the thread like dubbing and wraped it around where the thorax would be and vwala flailing legs just gave them a trim and i think it looks pretty good but the real question is will the fish like it ill let you know tomorrow as im heading up to the henrys fork to try it out. let me know what you guys think of how it looks and the idea. sorry the picture is so crappy its the best i could get with either of my cameras.

I don't take pics of flies usually, but here's some photography tips. Try not putting the camera so close to the subject. Make sure the pic itself is in focus. With digital images you don't need to be right on top of them. If you do that, then just crop the image to cut out the extra stuff around the fly you should be fine. Also use a background that contrasts with the color of the fly. White, cream for dark colors, black for light colors, etc. Also if you use the flash it will often help on the macro shots. Speaking of which, if your camera has a macro mode on it, use that. It's specifically for taking closeup shots of things like flowers, bugs and flies[Wink]

Try macro if your getting up close. also try different lighting and backgrounds in the vise. I think mojo made a picture box and back lit it Just try different things and you will figure out what works In the meantime I'll wear the glasses when I look at your pics.
