I have always herd Lake Powell had a high fecal count, but that is the biggest Crappie I have ever seen. [Wink]

Saw it on Wayne's this morning, big Crappie. Must have put up a good fight

Woooooooww!

just think, if he held it CLOSER to the camera it would be even BIGGER!! there's practically no limit!
[signature]
They all look like records two inches from the camera lens.
Nice Crappie regardless!
[signature]
i agree, you dont see to many honest pictures anymore[Smile]
[signature]
Hope they checked that WI boat for Dressenid mussels before he launched!!!

Its a great fish, but I wish they would not hold the fish at arms length from the body..It makes the fish look out of proportion and look bigger then it is..
[signature]
are you serious?

Sounds to me like a bunch of jealous guys on here again! Whining like always about how somebody is holding the fish! Hey it's a nice fish no matter how he is holding it!!! Maybe he just wanted it close enough to the camera so you can see the details! I'm just so mad because he didn't return this crappie to the water it takes them about 26 years to grow this big![:p]

i'll give you credit on one thing, i would love to catch a record fish, all i was saying is in most your pictures there holding the fish at arms lenght so you dont have nothing to judge it on escept the size of the guys hand. what ever happend to just holding the fish and not doing trick photography

[quote tmas]Sounds to me like a bunch of jealous guys on here again! Whining like always about how somebody is holding the fish[:p][/quote]-out of context f4f.

[#ff0000]Only one guy is whining....

That crappie is 2+ inches bigger than anything I've ever caught, even in Texas or Oklahoma where the "big" crappie are IMO. Hell ya I'm jealous but I'm not whining [Wink].
Anyways, I want to see a picture of the fish, not some old salty dog[:p][Wink]

I think sometimes that a hand or arm is as good as you can get to judge the size of the fish in a pic. It is the closest thing to the fish. I have posted quite a few pics of fish that are just in my hand. I dont see myself as a trick photographer and I dont think anybody else on BFT is either. I like all the pics. It is not very easy to show a fish any other way when your by yourself and let it live. As for the crappie I also think what Tmas said is true. JEALOUS...........I know I am[laugh][laugh]

Yep, the guy is holding it at arms length, right in front of the camera. Looks huge. About as big as:

"[#333333]The fish measured 18.5 inches long, and 15 inches around. [/#333333]
[#333333]This monster weighed 3 pounds and 5 ounces.[/#333333]"

I guess when you take measurements it's still a big fish no matter what the camera angle.

Great fish, great catch, good for him.

I'm jealous too...I've never seen a Crappie like that. If I do hook into one like it at some point, I dare say I'd run the risk of crapping. Pun intended.

I've seen many that will fit into the palm of your hand , and a few that will fit on a plate, but wow. Now I'm starting to understand why there is such a large group of people in the Midwest and East who target those things with such enthusiasm. I'm also thrilled that the waters close to home hold such a variety of good fish.

I want one like that.

That is one massive crappie
