A little fast Carp action will do the trick. Went to my childhood fishing hole in Idaho, and had a great time with my 10 year old. He was in 7th heaven. We caught 8 fish in about 2 hours, and kept him very entertained. Especially the two that went just under 10 lbs, that almost pulled him in. Good times and great memories, that trip was a keeper. The look on the picture says it all.

It is always a good idea to get kids involved with any outdoors activity. Fishing in my mind is one of the best and lowest cost things you can do and for most kids once they get that first good day of fishing they are hooked. It always helps when you have fish that go along with that plan[Wink]. Good to hear you got your kid involved in some fin action[:p]. I just wish there were more local lakes that had fish that were willing to keep the kids happy. When I was growing up in Colorado there was a pond that was full of blue gill and bass that were always willing to keep a kid happy by pulling that bobber under and running away with the bait. We are lucky Utah has so many ponds like that in many locations. WH2

Yes it is nice to have that opportunity. I posted a pic, we had a great day, I loved watching him begin to get a taste of what made me a lifelong fisherman.

Wow, nice stringer of carp, when it come to kids they don't care what they are catching as long as they are catching. When we grew up that changes for a lot of us but carp can still be plenty of fun to catch.[Smile] WH2
