Fished the 3rd event in the ASTEC Bass Club. We had 33 boats show up for wet day. We started our day on the edge of a grass flat tossing t-rigs. The edge of the flat toped out at about 5ft and had hard bottom before it slowly tapered into the channel. Most off the fish were on top. We stayed there until about lunch time. By then we had probably caught 3 limits of 3 lbers, and started bouncing around looking for a kicker. We fished rock, grass, wood, deep ledges, and shallow flats and everything in between. All of our fish came on t-rigged plastics, color didn't seem to matter as we caught fish on everything from tomatoe red to green pumkin. My partner "Jeff Jeffinelli" really came through for us, putting some solid keepers in the box. We culled and culled till our thumbs turned blue. Our biggest fish was 3-6# according to our scales and the smallest was 2-12# So all of our fish looked like twins. Never could get anything bigger but had a ball. Ended with 15lbs 2.5oz. and last place in the money (7th place). Right at 18lbs won it and everyone had about the same story as us, Lots of 3lbers. Big Fish was 5-15#. That may be the most fish I have ever caught in the rain. It was a good time, and the ASTEC boys put on another well-run event. See you all on Chickamauga!
