Well my meeting tday was in Springville, so on the way down I hit the outlet of UT lake. Wow, talk about water! All three gates are wide open and the river level is exactly the same as the lake. There is about an inch of air under the gates and the river has so much current is is hard to fish.
I hit the slack water areas and came away with a couple of whities for cat bait and couldn't keep the crappie of fthe line. They were mostly small, about hand size but there were plenty.
After my meeting I hit UT lake State Park and the Provo. I wanted to test out the wifes kayak so I padled up the river as far as I could before the current got to strong. The river temp at the mouth is 45. Inside the harbor the temp is 62. The crappie are in and spawning. I used the standard green jig with orange head under a bobber. Only about a foot to 18" below the bob. The crappie are right in the weed clumps, but they are there and lots of them. Carp are jumping and withering around in the weeds too.
I watched a fellow hook into a huge cat on his crappie rig, it jumped once and was a good 10lb fish, then into the weeds it went and before he could wade in to it, it was gone. I put on some whiteie meat and set a pole out, but no kittie for me.
Sorry no pics of the fish, the batteries went dead as I was taking a pic of the outlet dam.
