That's right, the ice is finally gone !!
I was up at Strawberry today and had fun. There was some wind and some white caps, but the good news is that the fish are still there [
]
The boat ramp is open, and they have a couple small docks rolled out so you can get in and out of your boat.
I even saw the "OPEN" sign lit up at the marina store. The bathrooms were even unlocked, and they're HEATED !!!
Anyway, there was no ice ANYWHERE except for just a little bit of ice east most side of the reservoir next to the North loop through the canyon to Soldier Creek. It was all up against the bank and probably only extended about 10-20 feet out from the bank. It was probably more slush than ice and will probably not even be there tomorrow..
We only saw a couple other boats out there, so apparently the word is not out yet. Get your boat and get out there.
Anyway, I took a few pictures of the lake area and a couple fish that we caught. Seems like I never catch as many as whoever I take fishing.. He caught about 13 and I only got 3.. One of mine was a chub, one of his was a rainbow, the rest were your typical 18"+ cuts..
