Well I have been in contact with Bigfish6 and he decided to let me tag along on an all nighter to UL last night. The wife wouldnt let me leave her on a friday night till 10:00 (good for her for helping me have some focus) haha

Well I showed up around 1030 and was super excited to see three big old kitties in the dock. I am used to catching 2 pounders at powell and a couple nice ones at UL but I havent seen anyone catch lots of big ones. The three on the dock were around 5 pounds. What they showed me next is what was REALLY amazing. He told me to open the bag on the dock and inside I found the biggest walleye I have ever seen!! We measered it at 27.5 inches long and it had a 15 inch girth! Truely a fish of a lifetime and it was caught by a newbie named Chris that bigfish6 had brought along.

They had been fishing for about 2 hours so I was really excited about the nights events. Bigfish6 showed me the bait we were using and I got all rigged up. About that time bigfishwanted showed up (nice to meet you man). The next 3 hours were pretty dead with a few mud cats being had here and there but nothing too exciting. There was a north wind blowing and it was cold. bigfish6 kept saying that the bite would turn on around 2:00 am. He was right, around 1:55 his bait pole went off. He set hook and handed me the rod and I battled a nice big channel. Around 5 or 6 pounds. Those fish are so strong and run like trains when they decide to get feisty.

I was excited but it was just a teaser. About 5 minutes later his rod started sliding off the dock again. He grabbed for it once and missed and it was so close to dumping in and being gone but he got it the second time. The fight was on and took a good 20 minutes. She made an initial run for deeper water. Then she turned and headed under the docks. He turned her and she was straight up and down for a few minutes. Then it was over and the fish was in the net and on the dock. She was 34 inches long and had a 17 inch girth. A monster to me but he has caught them much bigger.

I got a good bite right after but was not ready for it and missed it. I was freezing as I had not prepared for the cold we had so I left them around 2:30. It was a blast and I cant wait to get back out there soon. There are some monsters in that mud hole. Good to meet you bigfish6 and thanks for the lesson.

[cool][#0000ff]Now we know the secret of the "rainbow blanket" and shoes at the Knolls. Some guy was night fishing for cats and a big ol' biggun hit so hard it jerked him right out of his shoes and towed him out into the lake.[/#0000ff]

This is not big fish6 this is the rookie chris. I thought it was another white bass at first and then big fish6 told me it was a walleye. So he told me to loosen the drag and i turned it to much and the fish was going. Until I asked for help to figure out what I did wrong. Once I got things figured out I got a fight for the life of me.

I wish i could use a swear word to emphasize the ridiculousness of those freakin catfish! Get real will ya! i've heard stories from utah county folks about the cats in there but now they're not stories they're real life!!! And that walleye is not too shabby either, i don't know if that's good all the time or not but i'd call that a catfish beatdown myself!! N I C E

Chris if we could ever pull you away from the monsters down there, I would love to do a trip. I am sure bf6 would guide us. I know that fishlake is thawed now so we will talk when I come down for macs. It was an awesome night and something that bf6 does on a regular basis.

Hello Hooter,
I'm glad I was able to visit BFG for a while tonight. As you know work has been overrunning.....................Answer to your ? is no...It seemed like the fish liked bigfish6's pole the best............Although his buddy must of had the pole in the right hand when he landed that rather large eye...............I did catch two pups and had a fish pull my pole three feet forward which I hooked and had on for a while until my buddies line got tangled around mine. That really sucked.I was doing all the right things I thought.I had my pole in what looked to be a good spot it was in the water for about 1.5 hours with the right bait on it.It was going to happen. My buddy had his pole in for about 10 minutes after squeezing his way between me and bigfish6.Its all good...It was a lot of fun.Bigfish6,weekend warrior and the walleye slayer are all good fisherman and fun to fish with.......................Sometimes its sweet to go fishing and only have to worry about your own pole............Next time I will be a little more prepared......I'm not talking about the weather either, I never talk about the weather I think you need to worry about the guy that does.I was talking about a wide view for my camera.Them their fish have some mighty large noggins.Yes I'd have to say there a head above the rest.

Rapalas R rated G for everyone............................[fishin]
