Great day today fish from 6:45-3pm today.. WOW what a day I had.... Started off with a bass about 3lb, then crappie and big bluegills, more bass and more crappie and bluegills. Biggest bass was 20" and 4lbs. Pic on measureing board is blurred sorry... I was only fishing for crappies. I caught fish back to back all day today... I lost quite abit of crappies at the boat trying to swing them in... I kept a few crappies and bluegills for home.. Best day I have had at Utah lake in last couple of years... Everytime I turned around to look somewhere else and then turned back my bobber was gone... See pics attached......

I was fishing a small jig with a 1" curly tail and a small piece of crawler (2-jigs below the bobber..... I could of kept fishing but I ran out of worms and was sunburnt pretty good... It was a great day....That 100 count dont include all the fish that got off at the boat.... I had a fish on about every minute or less it seemed like....

Wow, I need to take my dad down there if they are biting like that I have always been nervous about that lake because of how shallow and the wind. Looks like you'll have some good "potato chips" to eat. I bought an electric fillet knife, now I need a chance to use it.

Great day, Quite a few time when the jig hit the water is was going down right away. I couldn't look away much today and enjoy my surroundings. I had a nice bass in a bunch of trash near the shoreline and he jumped right near the boat and I couldn't get it in and he snapped my line quick... I was reaching for the net and trying to keep it out in open water without luck... My light line was no match for that bass.......

I really hate to grub for info, but I have NEVER caught one fiish in UL.

You were in a boat; is there any shore access where you were? Or could I get into there with a float tube?

I can't bring myself to ask where you were, but if you wouldn't mind telling us what access point you used, or where you launched from.

Every time I've been down there, I can't find the drive-in access to the lake and end up driving around all over, then heading back to the marina and catching nothing...

[cool]Hey it looks like you are a newer member of the board here... I want to give you a tip for getting "secret" info on this board. It's kind of a non-written rule. If you send him a p.m. you might get a better more informative answer as he probably doesn't want to give away his secret spot to all 2000 or so Utah members and lurkers that read these posts. For example, look at how many people have ALREADY viewed his post on this thread here... Welcome aboard BFT and good luck to ya...

When I post info here I don't CARE if someone knows where or how or when....they USUALLY can't duplicate the results anyway... I think keeping a spot "secret" is for wossy's ... or insecure types, cuz us MEN don't mind letting others in on hot spots. I'm heading to Starvation tomorrow and if there are ANY hotspots there, I'll let the WORLD know about it on here. If I get skunked NO ONE WILL KNOW ABOUT it!!!
I'm just guessing ...but I BET any amount of money he was in Saratoga boat harbor back in near the hot springs....good guess HUH????

Have you made any posts about fishing trips? I coudn't find one. Why don't you make a few posts and see how it goes before you critisize someone that posts excellent reports and is very helpful if you send him a pm.

I did send springbuck a pm with the who, with what and where..... Maybe gottabite will share his stuff also and then when he goes back there to fish again there will be 20 boats there already...

I figured you did. I'm like you, if someone takes the time to send a pm I'll give them alot more information. Some places just can't take the pressure that a site like this can put on them. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, Bassaholic, I just dind't understand the protocol.

I myself am generous to a fault with info, and love to see others succeed. I have given away a bunch of good spots for elk, BTW.

But, I'm not a good enough fisherman to be much good to y'all, and I appreciate the info....if there is ever anything I can do....

[cool]Huge difference between Starvation - a lake that hardly anyone fishes because of how far away from the Front it is, and Utah Lake smack dab in the middle of the Front which gets WAY more fishing hours than Starvation.

And, I don't recall ever reading a fishing report from you - what was your name again??

where to start...
The pumphouse inlet, good for cats and gills this time of yr and also once in awhile REALLY good for whites...
Saratoga Harbor(or any of the harbors for that matter)...against EITHER side in the rocks under a bobber with a piece of whitebass and a BIG hook= BIG CATS!!
Here's some good info...at ANY lake where a river hits the lake, use a black damsel or wooly bugger behind a bubble full of water at NIGHT= BIG BROWN SLIMERS
Man, I got so much info running through my brain and my fingers are SOOOO slow typing.
Oh...by the way....West of the bridge at Starvation, at the river end, along the North wall where the old road bed is...green worm harness with bottom bouncers, slowwwwww .9 or less mph, in 24 ft of water(seemed to be the MAGIC depth) and if you're scared to hit the wall ya better not fish there, hard to control the boat without bow mount troller. The other hot spot was where FOD was paddling his driftboat.... at the inlet side near Salureatus and Sand Beach... I didn't have much luck there, but others did...using just a worm and a 2 hooks above a weight and slow drifting or going REAL slow with electric motor
