I had some time to kill but not the time to hit any place but Willow...

I got there at about 11:50 and could see that the water was stained a green and you could only see about 3' to 4' deep...

I hoped the bass was spawning but could not see any beds, I worked my way around the pond and did see a bass by some reeds...
I tried all four of the lures I had with me but all the bass would do is swim away from what I had, at the next set of reeds I could see another bass... I started to try the lures again when my dog went on point at the reeds,and a duck in them...

While I was looking at my dog a bass (LM) took my lure and the fight was on, I pulled out a 23" LM bass...I didn't think that place had anything like that size...

I kept working my way around on the east side to just about 3/4 the way along that side, I made one long cast out in the middle to take the loop out of my line and by the time I got the loop out my line was still going out...
I set the hook on the prettiest small mouth bass the first I have seen at Willow pond it was 18" and I would guess it went 2 1/2 lb I didn't have a camera with me, after all I was at Willow pond...
It was a nice 1 1/2 hr. of fishing ...

Nice... last year i hooked one on my fly rod but she broke off with two pulls, nice one too right to the docks.

No I'm not kidding you it was and sure made me look twice at it as well...I would not believe it, if I had not seen it my self...But they are still in there for others to try for...

woah. What would you guess the weight would be on a 23 inch lmb?

I guessed it at 5.8 low side and 6 at high side...The small mouth is what got me the most, just have not ever heard of any in there...But maybe a bucket Boi- person put it in there...[][cool]

Thanks for the hot tip about willow pond, Bassrods. Just got back, and it was great. Caught 6 bass with the biggest going 25 inches. Nice!

What are the regs for that pond? Can I keep 6 Bass? I am going to go and keep all the big ones you guys keep talking about. I got an addiction to eating the SMB at Powell and throwing the LMB on the bank!!!

Dude I got two today at the same time [shocked] on a zara spook that were both over 4 lbs a piece! I thought my rod was going to break. Sure beats Jordanelle!!!
