MadBomber and I met up at the Riverpark this morning around 9:00 AM for a foray on spots. Fat Albert was supposed to be with us to document the catch, but he had more important things to do than fellership with his two busom buddies. emoPoke emoBig

Anyhow, we quit fishing just a little before 12:00 as we were tired of catching fish. We put 44 fish in the boat. 1 smallmouth, 2 largemouths, 4 bream, 1 crappie and 39 spots. Several of those spots had a date with the American Angler to be determined at a later time.

There was a lot of current, stained water, and the fish were wanting to play. We landed 44 and probably lost another 30 or so that just jumped a couple of times and were released to fight again someday. We were fishing ultralight rods, 4 lb test Mr Crappie line, 1/16 oz jigs, and most of the fish came on a 3" white grub with a taillight. A few came on our 2" rainbow minnows and also pearl minnows. We had a great time together and were ready to come in and rest up for the next trip. I had MB stop at a spot where the big longear sunfish usually spawn to see if they were there. I made 3 casts, caught 2 very large fish and called it a day. That will determine where I fish tomorrow, unless I go back out there this afternoon.

The batteries in my camera were dead, but MB came through with a few pics that he will post later, I'm sure. For now, it is just a fishing tale. emoUp

emoGeezer
