So I'm thinking about heading to blackfoot res this Sat to try for my first carp ever. I'm wondering what flies I should get/tie, and where on the lake is good. If somebody could share some info I would appreciate it greatly, (pm's are cool too).
Thanks
PS,
I've never fished there before and was wondering if there are crawfish in there too.

There is a Carp Classic Tournament on the Blackfoot Res this Friday and Saturday. You may want to check into that if your going to be there. There may even be quite a few people that may share some info with you.
Here is a link with the dates and contact info if your interested. Click Me!

Well nuts, I don't think I want to go if it's going to be crouded. Does anybody know of another spot that would be good for carp, preferably not too far from rexburg?

Funny thing is, I was making the same plans earlier this week, and then found out that the tournament was taking place. Not so sure I'll be heading there this weekend... but maybe the next.

take a shot gun and kill the cutthroat eating pelicans

Probly not a bright idea given that there will probly be some F&G folks there. [:/]

Belasko,
Yep, the F & G folks will be there alright -- but to kill pelicans themselves --according to the paper this morning.
ILIKETOFISH,
Another pretty good carp spot is on the A.F. reservoir back waters around Springfield or off the lava rock near Aberdeen.
