Fished Lucky Peak this A.M. with my wife Kali. Boated 9 between 8 and 11:00. Lost just as many. Between the hefty size of the kokes and the wind, it was more difficult than usual! Yeah, I know. I used to blame my glove a lot when I played baseball!!! Anyway, the fish typically were 16--16 1/2 inches, but caught one 18 incher. The great thing about this site, in addition to the generous sharing by the people on it, is that you can go back a year and see what was happening. I did just that, and returned to the same site I fished this time last year, and sure enough, they were there. A Jack Lloyd did best, with the usual behind it, and of course some Shoepeg, soaked in a little Pautzke Nectar. Some others were doing equally well, but talked to several boats at pull-out, and they had been blanked. Go figure. I noticed that one of them was trolling way too slow. We found 1.2 or 1.3 the most productive. Can't wait to see how big these guys get by August. Mike

So I certainly am no expert on kokanee fishing.....Does it only get better as the summer matures?

P.S. I am glad that you got so many, that's great!

Absolutely! The fish are somewhat scattered this time of year. June is good, July is better, August is great until they start to turn. Go back to the posts from last summer, and that will give you lots of info about where, when, and how to fish for them. Anytime you want more specifics, send me a message. Mike
