Tyler was gracious enough to take my back seat and help keep us on fish emoSmile <br />We started out the morning hitting a flat, fishing 8ish ft of water with plastics, cranks, spinnerbaits, and tried topwater. Water temp was around 70 (correct me TY... my memory isn&#39;t very good right now since I haven&#39;t hardly slept in the last 3 days ..lol) Nothing on the top water or spinnerbaits all day emoScratch We pulled a keeper up pretty quick on a crankbait and stuffed one in the well emoThumbsup ... caught some shorts and hooked a really nice fish (4LB&#43
... it did an aerial ballet, came toward the boat, then turned me loose emoBang ... I thought I had him hooked well emoScratch .. we caught a few more fish, filled out a small limit ... missing a lot of strikes, and having more fish come unbuttoned than I&#39;ve ever seen emoHoppingmad . We ran on to a spot that had given me a couple of keeper fish on spinnerbaits and didn&#39;t get a look... moved on over to a rocky point and we caught/missed a few fish... then, another good fish (4LB&#43 attacked my lure emoTongue it ripped some drag, surfaced a time or 2 to let us see her broad sides, worked it to the boat and it decided that it wanted to head back home when it got to within 5 ft of the net emoEnforce ... I don&#39;t have any idea why I lost so many fish today on a crankbait. We had our opportunity to have placed well in the tourney, but couldn&#39;t get them in the boat emoScratch .... maybe I need a &#39;real&#39; crankbait rod? .... any ideas on a crankbait rod that won&#39;t break the bank! ... this it 2 tourneys in a row that I couldn&#39;t keep crankbait fish on... The hooks are sharp enough to stick in your butt if you fart close to them... dunno why it won&#39;t hold the fish emoScratch We moved to a main lake hump and culled another fish out of 18 ft of water.<br /><br />All in All it was a great day on the water... really glad the rain held off emoAngel ... TW is really fun to fish with and we did well today.. just missed our opportunities emoSmile <br /><br />Thanks to all who fished the tourney and to CATCH for letting us tag along with them.
