slipped down in the afternoon on saturday to get away from the yard and see if we could find any fish. fishing by 2:30. surprised at the difference in water temp. we found 66 to 71. we figured it was due to some hot springs. The white bass were in the warmer water. Started casting, caught a couple. changed to trolling with planer boards and cotton cordell grappler shads and start ed getting two or three fish on at a time . We had added a strike indicator to the planer boards and it really helped otherwise we would have dragged the fish without knowing. The wind came up about 6:00 and so we left shortly after. I really hate the wind on Utah Lake. It was a great day to try out trolling on UL.

Glad you got into them i ended up there too early morning . I never tried planner boards at utah lake looks like i am going to have to try that. Did you troll weghtless jigs ?

we were trolling grappler shads by cotton cordell with 50 feet of line. the gold colors was getting more hits than the silver colors. fished 6-10 feet of water. leave some slack between the front clip and back clip on the planer board or the flag will not go down and you end up draging the fish. The planer increase your spread of lures as you troll, and if you get more hits on the inside/outside turns you can a just your speed.(outside turn the lure goes faster,inside lure goes slower). (i'm getting tired of landing her big fish). Good Luck
