Decided to take a solo trip back to one of the old honey holes up north. On the water at 7:30 and off the water at 1:30. Caught four "Trasher's" [Wink] LMB. One almost tipped the scale at 3 lb (2.15)!!! Not a bad day on the water. I didnt even pull any lures out, all nightcrawlers today!!!

nice fish! I have never hooked into a lmb. Plenty of smallies, but never the lmb. Never thought I'd be jealous of some "trash fish"

Wow that is a slow day for that lake. You got one in my honey hole to! Im counting on being there in the morning to try to fix some problems with my trash fishin gear. Wear it out....Use it up and get a sore arm from catching. Are they pre spawn or post?

Yeah it was a slow day, since I spent half the day on the phone LOL should have left it in the truck!!!!!! I want to say they are pre-spawn, the four that I caught only had a little "red" (blood) on the tails (fanning beds)!!! You cant even tell from my pix. Good luck and let me know how you do with the tackle. Again, I pulled my box out to get my "worm blower" out and that is all I used was nightcrawlers!!!

Thanks I will keep that in mind. Cell phone off, fish slow and deep.

Looks like post spawn. The fish are on the skinny side and the fins are ripped on a couple of the pics by the males who are into S &M.[Wink] If you hold the fish more belly to the camera.....I would be able to tell you right away by looking at the vents. The females ovipositor sticks out right after she lays. The eggs ripen several times if the female is fat and healthy. Some lakes only 1 major bedding though. Some lakes up to 3 over a month approximately. This is just from empircal observation during bed fishing for a number of years.
