Took a road trip above the mountains today for a picnic and took the kiddos out for some trout and whatever else would bite. I've never been up there before until today and my Lady grew up in the Farner/Turtletown area so she took me down to a nice spot on the Hiwassee just below Apalachia Dam to fish and have a picnic. It was absolutely beautiful!!!! We used nightcrawlers and enjoyed watching the newts in the water below gorge themselves on a hot dog we dropped in the water for the little lizards. LOL!! We caught several bream and Brandon, as usual, landed himself a nice Rainbow to round out the day and big fish title yet again. It measured 14.5" and was the most colorful i've seen in years. Had a great day until the bottom dropped out of a single cloud and soaked our trip. Still had a blast and it was beautiful!!!
