I have friday off and a buddy and I want to head up to Mantua. If someone could tell me the best way to get there from Hill AFB, and where boat launch is.
I have not had much luck fishing in UT. If anyone has tips, or a map of the lake they can e-mail, thanks in advance.

If you do a search tubedude has a map of the lake there tons of previous post on tips on how to fish the the lake as far as directions go just take I15 N take 1100 brigham city exit follow the road and take the exit after the Mantua sign
turn right cant miss the boat dock look for paved parking lot and bathroom follow the road right next to it.
I suggest google maps for precise directions
I was up there yesterday most the bass & gills or close to the shore we did pretty good just flipped plastic craws and worms.

Your best way to get there would be to follow I-15 north and get off at the Brigram city exit. Follow this road to the main intersection in Brigram then continue straight up the hill. Get off the first exit in the town of Mantua and follow the main road around until to get to the lake, You could also get off the second exit that is listed on the map, the boat launch is marked. Here is a map that Tubedude put together with locations. As was stated your best fishing is close to the shore right now. I hope is helps. By the way, welcome to the site. WH2

Thanks for all the info.
What is the fee to drop my boat in?

Hopefully one of the guys that fish there often will chime in here but the last time I was there, they did not charge a fee. They have done some improvements since there, so I would think that has changed[:/].

[cool][#0000ff]No fee. A mixed blessing. Good for those who are on a budget. Bad for small boaters and float tubers who get run over by the cheap power squadron crowd who could well afford to launch elsewhere...but don't.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]It is not a big ramp (see picture) and it is a small lake, but there are some huge boats that launch there. Kinda like bringing a gun to a knife fight.[/#0000ff]

Do you Texas or Carolina rig?
Do you guys think it will be busy on a non holliday Friday morning?

[cool][#0000ff]Texas rigged weightless worms and lizards work well in shallow water where there is not too much weed growth. Lots of guys like Senko type lures, rigged wacky style.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Tough to fish Carolina rigs in Mantua, especially once the heavy weed growth fills in the lake. But drop shotting in the holes in the weeds can be very effective. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]As you may know, Utah State employees now only work Monday through Thursday...4 10-hr shifts...and have Fridays off. Quite a few other companies have similar work situations. That has made it so that Fridays are almost like Saturdays on many favorite waters...very busy.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, if you get to Mantua early, before the worst of the power squadron, you can usually get in some decent fishing with a minimum of "rock and roll".[/#0000ff]
