My Crackerfest partner had a baseball game that prevented him from attending this year, so I was faced with fishing the Crackerfest alone. Friday night I decided I was gonna fish the "legend" dog-fight before heading over for the crackerfest weigh-in. I barely made it on time as my alarm clock didn't go off on time but my 4 month old daughter made sure I didn't oversleep too long. At blast off I headed up-river and started on a rocky point. I caught about a bazillion small bass on everything I threw. t-rigs. spinnerbaits, and deep cranks. It took about an hour but scraped out a 3 fish limit and decided to start easing down river. I stayed deep catching a few here and there. with less than an hour left, my graph was finally showing what I was looking for and I proceeded to catch keeper after keeper in about 20ft. on a swim bait. I could not get a kicker and ran out of time. I culled my 3 dinks from earlier and ended with 7.76# not a big bag, but enough for some gas money. I caught fish in 5-20ft the water was in the low 70s and the current was moving hard. There a lot of fish cruising around following bait, if you catch the right school you can have a ball! Thanks for putting this on Jim, it was blast.
