[cool][#0000ff]As promised, here is the PDF file pictorial on how I installed my new Cuda 300.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]This is not the ONLY way to do it. It is the way I have come to prefer after trying many other ways to hook up sonar on my tube. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Obviously there will be differences in the type of tube you have and how you want to view the display or attach the transducers. Use your own creativity to devise your own personal best setup. But, do post pics of what you come up with.[/#0000ff]

TD, how big or a battery should I get for the cuda300 ?
I like to stay on the water for 8-12 hours and would like to
run the cuda all the time.

And how long does it take to charge the battery?
Any good battery charger that does not cast
hundreds of dollars?

Please let me know.
Thank you ,Peter

You can use the Gel Cell batteries like for home alarm systems. Cabela's or Sportsmens sell both the batteries and the chargers
check this site:

I am sure you can find them for less, but this gives you an idea of what you are looking for.
I got the ac/dc adaptor and charge my battery from the car lighter on the way to the lakes.

[cool][#0000ff]Cabelas, Sportsmans and other places that sell sonars and electronics all sell the gell cell (SLA) batteries. Standard size is 7 amp/hours. I get some that are only 4.4 a/h and run my sonar continuously all day...and still put out 12.6 volts when I get home.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The little 110 volt trickle chargers for those batteries only cost about $10. They put in about a half amp per hour. Don't use heavy auto battery chargers. After a long day on the water my charger takes only a couple or three hours to bring the battery back up to the top. It may take longer the first charge.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Get a volt tester and check your batteries often. Charge them up to about 13 volts before you go out and then again when you get home. SLA batteries are not deep cycle batteries. You should not run them down to failure.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I think Cabelas has a combo battery and charger for only about $25.[/#0000ff]
