Great evening on the water at River park started out about 6:30pm and quit at 10:00pm when water shut-off . Son was wanting to fish bad before he starts conditioning for football. Weather was great until storm rolled thru and we just moved down river and actually beat it out. We caught fish on lizards, shaky heads, and boo-ya spinners. Best evening for us in awhile. Sorry no pictures to show I left camera in hurry to get to lake. Caught two 4+ smallies on all things a purple worm, texas rig. Also landed a nice 3lb smallie that someone had hooked earlier across from River park. What happened is someone broke it off and the line and fish was tangled in brush. I came along hooked the line and got a nice surprise. Cut out the line and turned her loose, who-ever was fishing live bait and silver # shiner hook it was a nice fish! HA!. About dusk John got into catfish on his rigged chigger claw and wore them out until the water shut-off down stream. He broke-off a nice mystery fish right at boat, with nothing but several inches of slime to show for it. Total for evening was 6 smallies, 5 spots and 3 largemouth's (no size) and 5 blues, anywhere from 2lbs to 10lbs. We also lost several fish striking the lures at the boat and getting off. We never had a slack minute all evening until the water stopped moving.
