We launched at the S. marina today and fished the SW corner on both Friday and Saturday until ~ 10:00 in the morning. Fishing was good. We picked up at least 15 wipers today and had multiple others on. Trolling rattle traps and deep divering rapalas proved to be most productive.
I know not many have VHF radios here in utah. If you do what channel do you monitor. TMAS I saw you listed 21 yesterday. Any one else have a favorite channel?

You actually caught wipers today? Ive been on the lake all day and didnt see a wiper caught by other boats in that area you were in... I was in the blue and white tracker deep v 17 boat with two other guys.

We "knew" where the wipers would be from yesterday so we headed straight to the spot. The fishing was very fast at first light, then tapered off around 10:00. I usually have my VHF with me let me know what channel and lets chat.
almost same exact story for us. about 10 hours on the water 20 miles of trolling, and a half hour of casting. one accidental crappie and one missed walleye. picked the wrong hole today!

My boat is in the avatar. I usually go to the N enterance, may try the SW side first thing so will try launching from the South. Shorter drive anyways. I'm trying to get up there by 0630 or so. My butt has to get up too ha ha.

We fished from about 6:45 PM until 9:45PM, and picked up two wipers. Both came on an SR5 in bluegill, ~6' down (50' behind the planer board), ~2.8MPH. One just southwest of the island, the other east of the feedlot.
I've seen that early morning bite before. One day we caught 20 wipers and a few walleyes before noon.
I use channel 68 a lot, but don't care what we use. It would be nice to agree on a WB BFT channel. I'm in a white Hewescraft with a Mercury 115HP.

[fishin] Not to change the subject. But I can say I have never had as many straightened hooks as we did the other day out on Willard. I even up graded the hooks. We did not boat one fish but did have 3 straighten hooks and 2 others brake line one 8 lb test and the other 12lb test. And yes I might not be the best fisherman out there but I have never seen anything like it.

Go to one of the super lines for the wipers or set your drags loose,I lost 7 lures before I changed out.Wipers hit harder than any fish of it's size and I experienced the same as you did.I haven't lost a lure since.
I use fire line 14lb it 6 lb diameter crystal
