LIZELLA, GEORGIA - As an added incentive to teams participating in multiple divisions - and teams planning to do so - the IFA Redfish Tour announces the "Ultra 6" Award, a $5,000 cash prize awarded to the qualifying team with the highest finish in the IFA Redfish Tour Championship.
Teams fishing at least six events in any combination of divisions during the 2009 regular season will be automatically qualified to compete in a tournament-with-a-tournament competition at the 2009 championship. The highest-finishing eligible team will win the $5,000 cash prize in addition to any other prizes available to them at the competition based on their place of finish. Teams may use a substitute angler in one of the minimum six tournaments they compete in, but must compete with regular partners during the championship event.
By offering 18 single-day, regular-season events in six divisions from the Carolinas to Texas, the IFA Redfish Tour continues to set the pace for convenient participation opportunities that allow anglers to fish close to home, lucrative payouts and overall quality of competition - the perfect opportunity for inshore fishing enthusiasts to be a part of a premier, competitive fishing tour without the time commitment and financial constraints of other fishing tours.
With 14 regular-season events remaining in 2009, including this weekend's event in Slidell, La., there is still time for teams to be a part of the "Ultra 6" competition. With low entry fees, multiple contingency awards from major outdoor brands such as Ranger Boats, Rapala, Solar Bat, Cabela's and others, the IFA Redfish Tour makes it easy and profitable for inshore anglers to compete.
IFA Redfish Tour "Ultra 6" Award Guidelines:
· To be eligible, teams must fish a minimum six (6) IFA Redfish Tour events as a team (the
team may use an alternate for one event only and must fish with their regular partner at the
championship).
· Teams may elect to fish multiple events in any combination of divisions.
· All teams that qualify will fish in a tournament-within-a-tournament format during the IFA
Redfish Tour Championship. The highest-placing team among the qualifying teams will win a
$5,000 cash award and be named the IFA Redfish Tour "Ultra 6" Team of the Year.
In addition to the "Ultra 6" Award, teams fishing any three of the IFA's 18 regular-season events are automatically qualified for a no-entry-fee championship event, pitting qualifiers from each of the six divisions for a combined $77,000 in payouts and prize packages, as well as a shot at the coveted Cabela's Overall Divisional Team of the Year Award for the six regular-season division winners.
This year, included in the $47,000 payout per event (based on a 100-boat field), the first-place prize package for all 18 IFA Redfish Tour regular-season events has been increased. In 2009, every regular-season tournament winner is guaranteed - regardless of field size - a fully loaded 2009 Ranger Banshee Extreme. The boat is powered by a 60-horsepower, four-stroke Yamaha outboard and is equipped with a Bob's four-inch Ultra Light Jackplate, Power-Pole shallow water anchor, Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird electronics, Blue Point Fabrication metal work and Loadmaster trailer. The entire first-place prize package is valued at $30,000.
IFA Redfish Tour events are made possible through the sponsorship and continued support of the fishing industry's most respected brands: Ranger Boats, Cabela's, Yamaha Outboards, Rapala, Trigger X, Sufix, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Power-Pole, Wrap This, CW Crab, Charter Lakes Marine Insurance, Solar Bat, Gemini Custom Apparel, Navionics, Bob's Machine Shop, Blue Point Fabrication, Terminator, VMC Hooks, Loadmaster Trailers, Powertex Group and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
