Hey we are heading up to Starvation on Sat. and I just was wondering how the fishing is and also where are the hottest placest to fish on starvation right now. Any advice will be helpful! thanks![]

A buddy of mine hit it all day Saturday for bass, they boated about 30 of them despite being forced off for a couple hours for lightning. He didn't say where on the lake he was but just that they did better in the afternoon than evening. Hope that's helpfull!

Fishing is beginning to pick up again. Good numbers of perch have not moved in shallow yet. I had some luck fishing deep, in the middle of Rabbit Gulch last Friday morning. Near the Strawberry inlet along the northwest shoreline has also been productive and very popular. Fishing has been hit and miss lately. We have been bouncing bright colored 1/4 oz. jigs tipped with nightcrawler.

You didn't mention what type of fish you were targeting, I've spent the last two weekends at Starvation and we have caught quite a few eyes. Best places for them are at both ends of the lake, just look for the armada of boats and that is where you will find the eyes biting. It did get a little ugly out there Sat. afternoon with the rain, lightning and wind but that really seemed to turn the eyes on. We were fishing above the bridge and other than my brother-in-law in another boat we had it all to ourselves during the afternoon storm. Alot of the eyes are small 12 to 15 inches so you have to weed thru them. Our largest was 19 inches, deffinately good eaters. I've heard of guys catching 5 to 7 pounders there, but in two weekends I haven't seen anything boated that I thought would go over 3 to 4 lbs. I will be fishing tournaments the next two weekends so I won't be fishing Starvation for a bit.Good luck on your trip.
