Friday, 05/29/09- Pulled up to my friends cabin on Southern Utah's Cedar Mountain at about 10:00 pm. At 10,000 ft. elevation the temp was 35 degrees. Pushed open the door, lit the lamps and woodstove, and was thankful I was not in a tent!

Saturday was clear and cool. What a great day for tossing worms into trout streams.

The small streams were running high and fast. The shoreline was wet and soggy with run off. Good thing I brought rubber boots!

Wildflowers bloom in this extreme environment.

Action was steady all day long. This fish represents the average size of what the streams contained.

Interesting shot of tiny trout, stream, snow, and cabin.

This was the big daddy of the morning....about nine inches!

What do you do after an long morning of creek fishin? Enjoy a hearty brunch of fried eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and OJ on the deck of a high mountain cabin! What do you do after brunch? Hike back down to the creek and fish some more.

Beautiful pictures. I was born in Cedar and grew up in Parowan so I know the area well. So many little places to get out and do a little fishing. One of my favorites is the stream that comes into Paragonah Reservoir. You can climb back about 1000 yards and catch fish all along they way. What a blast. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
