I'm in Boise for a few days and since I got in early I had some time to kill so I went fishing in the Boise River. It was too high and moving way too fast so I didn't have much luck. Anyone know of a different place I could go close by as I'll have some time tomorrow afternoon since my flight leaves Fri morning and I got a two day license.

Hopefully someone can respond before I leave [blush]

Yes, the river is rippin'!! Actually starting to flood some areas of the Greenbelt. It was producing some very nice trout--and whitefish--earlier. You could try Parkcenter Pond, which is just off Broadway. Anyone in town could give you instructions. No promises; I haven't heard how it is fishing. Good luck, and welcome to Boise. Mike

Is that the pond where all the paddle boats are and all the ducks. I think this is near where I parked while I was fishing in the Boise River on the other side of Boise State. Damn near stepped on a snake in the grass [:/]

No. The Parkcenter Pond is east of the pond you are referring to--the Julia Davis pond. Turn east on Broadway (the street bordering Julia Davis on the east side of the park and turn east at Wendy"s. Look for the pond on the south side of this road.) By the way, an 18- pound brown trout was caught in the Boise River where you were fishing years ago--where the foot bridge crosses the river from the park to the college.
