Been in central Illinois for a week now (funeral) with in spitting distance of one of the best walleye lakes in the state...and no boat [mad]
I've been kinda hanging out at the dock looking forlurn hoping some one would offer a boat ride [:/]
The stringers of walleyes, large mouth bass, crappies. blue gills, perch, catfish and even a couple of muskies that these people are bringing in is pretty awsome.
Local bait shops carry minnows, large suckers, crawlers, horse and ribbon leeches, crickets and frogs. Won't see that in Utah [crazy]

Wish we had some of these kind of fisheries back home

Where at in Central Ill? I was stationed there for my last 2 1/2 years in the Military and we use to do alot of fishing back there, caught pretty much everything but muskie. Didn't much care for the high humidity in the summer though. Headed for Willard in a few minutes for a tourney there with the wife.

I'm in Clinton Ill. Clinton lake is about as big as Pine View. I am amazed at the fish they bring into the docks.
I'm told the muskies were introduced a few years ago.
Some of the the bass they are cleaning are 5 or 6 #. Bass Rods would have a caniption fit ! [sly]
Speaking of cleaning fish...allmost every one I saw with fish were gutting and scailing them??? Not many folks are filleting???
Good luck on the turney. I was supposed to be there [crazy] My sons fishing it in my place with Todd...or at least he said he was.

I fished Clinton alot, if memory serves it has a big power plant there. I don't think thay had muskies there then but I did catch stripers fishing the near the bridge. It was a great place to fish crappie thru the ice as well. Brenda and I didn't place in the top 3 at Willard but Mike and Wet1 took a 3rd. Turned into a beautiful day but windy from the South West.

Hang in their buddy, I am sure it is tough, when you get back we will have to chase down some of the local Utah walleye, I might be getting a little tired rowing that drift boat all over, plus it is a lot easier being a net man all day long for you.
