Hey guys,
I live in St. George and will be heading up to Kamas next week. While I'm there I want to fish a couple of lakes. I prefer to fish for bass large or small mouth. Just need a heads up on what works where. Rockport, Echo, Jordonelle, and Deer Creek are possibilities. One day I will be taking my nephew so perch fishing would be fast and fun for him. Thanks in advance.

Without a doubt head to jordanelle. Smallies should be on beds, or near them and there are alot of 2lb plus fish.
Others on this forum should be able to tell you what to use, but senko's and twin tail yamamoto's in natural colors work well.

Go to Jordanelle and throw a white curly tail grub on a bottom bouncing rig off of main lake points next to shallow flats and be ready for some fast action.

Thanks for the info on Jordanelle. Anyone have anything on Rockport even historically what works?

Rockport doesn't hold alot of big smallies but they are quite abundant there. I have done really well there with a dark brown or green jig in a 1/16 oz jighead on main lake points worked slowly bouncing over the cover There isn't alot of submerged cover there so look for points with alot of loose rocks and submerged boulders in the shallows with defined openings adjacent to deep water.

I made it up late last night. My wife and I will be heading out as soon as she wakes up. Thanks for the info and I will keep you posted. If anyone ever needs some info on the lakes around St. George give me a shout.

so my wife and I hit Rockport around 10:30 she wanted to sleep in. We were able to fish until 2:00 until the weather ushered us off the lake. After lunch I put on a dark green skirted jig and caught 3 smallies before the wind and rain.
