Hello all,

I have not flied with sinking line, I'm looking to fish lakes targeting trout.

any tips on fish techniques and flies would be appreciated.

I don't know any tricks so to speak. In the spring and fall you can get away with an Intermediate or a type II. Summer/hot moths, you might want a fast sink to get down quick.
Then you have Density Compensated and wet cell.

The lines I use the most are Intermediate, Type II and Depth Charge 300 grain. I also use a Type III wet cell for shallow weedy bottoms.

All sinking line will hit the bottom, it's just how fast do you want it to get there.
Many will count down on lines like Type II or III
