Got some time the next couple days, thinking about hitting Pineview. Never had too much luck there, always end up at cemetery point, losing about half my lures in those damn rocks. Tried for an entire summer one year up there for Tigers and never had a hookup, thinking about trying again. I'm hoping someone could tell me a place where I can access the lake at without a boat other than cemetery?
Thanks, Ouch!

Middle inlet swim beach area east side of PV. Depending on where you go you can fish the swim beach are inlet area and also Spring Creek area.
Also just west of the port ramp (boat launch) area north side of PV there's Rattlesnake Creek that you can access the shoreline.
Geeresten Bay north of the middle inlet you can park along the road and also fish.
PV is still very high and has little to no exposed sand and shore line in these areas I mentioned will be your best bet for now fish'n from shore.
Best of luck and hope you get into them.

Is that private land? How is it someone can charge there?
Also if anyone has some directions to any of these places it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not usually a bass guy, I love catching the things but is it possible to target bass and muskie very successfully, from the shore? From the little I've seen it seems like the most successful bass fishing comes fishing towards the shore not away from it?
Any help with Pineview is greatly appreciated!
Thnx,

[cool][#0000ff]I am attaching a labeled map of Pineview. What you need to do is get in your vehicle and drive all the way around it...checking for access points and making notes. There are some turnouts and designated angler access points...such as at Spring Creek. There are other spots that you have to park and walk, but are not private property. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The water level is very high right now, and some spots that usually have nice fishing beaches are under water. Access is more limited now than it will be in a month or so.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Yes, you will usually do better from a boat or float tube, when you can cover more shoreline and make presentations to the outside of flooded structure. But, there are quite a few anglers who score both muskies and bass while casting from shore. Again, you will have more options when the water starts dropping a little. Plenty of crappies and perch from shore too. And some good bluegill and bullhead cats in some spots.[/#0000ff]

All of my muskies and bass are from shore. my tube keeps on getting holes in it. So i just fish from shore and do pretty well. Like tubedude says the access will be better in a month or so. Pineviewfisher

Thanks TubeDude,
Much appreciated advice, it's quite a drive so usually when I go to lake like Pineview I stop at the first place I find open water and fish from there, but I'll have to scout this out a little better next time and with your map it'll be great!
I do have a small oar powered boat, would it be insane to trot it out up there? Only time tried winds were so bad, got blown all over the place.

[cool][#0000ff]Unless you launch at one of the ramps, you will be looking at a bit of a trudge to get your small boat to the water anyplace else. But, if you watch the weather and don't get too far away from your launch site, you should be safe.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The biggest problem on Pineview, with a small boat, is the power squadron. The skiers and wakeboarders start early and get worse as the day goes on. Even when the wind is not blowing you can get bounced around on 3 foot waves from those power mad wackos...or have to dodge 10 year old kids on Jet Skis. And they love to seek you out in the back of a quiet cove, while you are fishing, and then do donuts around you...to help the fishing.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It is not good to waste fishing time by driving, but it is the best way to learn a new lake. The time you invest in scouting out different spots can pay off big time when you need another launch site or fishing access spot to get out of the weather or avoid motorized water traffic. And, like all lakes, the fish are sometimes more cooperative in one area than another. No reason to fish all day where the fish aren't active.[/#0000ff]
